Artist statement: The story that I find the most enjoyable of my dog was a Fanta can incident. One time I got back home and my dog had a Fanta can right in his mouth. He was moments away from breaking open a soda can and spilling it all over my white living room carpet. To this day I have to always remember to double check that my dog isn't doing anything wrong.
My dog means a lot to me and my family and brings joy to all of us. Having a dog teaches me responsibility and maturity of taking care of something. My dog makes me very happy when i'm stressed or sad about something. Having a pet that has sympathy means a lot to me.
Photo environment: I took the photo inside my room with a simple carpet back with my dog. The rest of the photos I took on my vacation to florida with nice backgrounds and in the u of m stadium.
Photo Challenges: I believe the hardest part of the portraits was creating a formal balance to create an importance on all sides of the image. This would include having a good background to take the portraits in. Having asymmetrical detail wasn't as hard because all of my portraits were strictly the same persons. Getting the lighting for my dog's portrait was a challenge due to him wandering around and the fact that my room generally doesn't have much lighting. The selective focus was simple as well because the background of my dog was simple and non distracting.
